Since the release of version 3.08 of GigaTribe, some users have reported performance slowdowns and, in some cases, complete application freezes (“the program is not responding”). The issue may appear gradually over time.
We have been able to reproduce the problem and a fix is currently in progress.
We invite you to download Beta version 3.08.41 (or later) available on the GigaTribe website homepage, and to let us know if the issue persists.
Affected situations
The issue may occur in particular when:
- a large number of downloads are running simultaneously;
- many shared folders are located on slow storage devices (NAS, external hard drives).
This behavior already existed before, but seems to have been worsened in version 3.08, likely due to the development environment used.
Temporary workarounds
While waiting for the fix, if the Beta version does not solve your issue :
- reset shared folders or ongoing downloads;
- revert to version 3.06.015, available on the homepage of gigatribe.com.
Although marked as recommended for Windows 7 and 8, it is also compatible with newer Windows versions.
