GigaTribe is available through two separate channels: the standard version and the beta version. Both versions use the same built-in update system.
The standard version is recommended for most users and prioritizes stability.
The beta version provides early access to improvements and fixes currently being validated. It may be less stable and is intended for users who want to test new features.
How to check your version and channel
The GigaTribe window title always displays your username, the version number, and the channel in use:
- In the standard version, only the version number is shown.
Example:username - GigaTribe 3.09.005 - In the beta version, the word “Beta” is added.
Example:username - GigaTribe 3.09.006 Beta
This allows you to quickly verify which version you are using.
How to update GigaTribe
The procedure is identical for both versions:
- click the menu at the top right,
- select “Check for updates”,
- if an update is available, it will be offered automatically.
Important: each channel updates only its own version
The two channels evolve in parallel and remain independent:
- a standard version only offers standard updates,
- a beta version only offers beta updates.
If no update is offered, check your channel by looking at the window title.
Special case: older 32-bit versions
Version 3.06.015 is a 32-bit standard version. Since recent versions are now 64-bit, automatic updating to those versions is not possible. You must manually install the latest available version.
Changing channel
To switch from the standard version to the beta version, or vice versa, first uninstall the current version, then install the version from the desired channel.
Troubleshooting: what to do if the update does not work
If no update is offered or the automatic update does not work, the simplest solution is to uninstall the current version of GigaTribe and install the latest available version from the official GigaTribe website.
